Bitcoin is entirely a new idea, and it seems to be here to stay. It is not like any other thing that the world had seen in a very long time. In bitcoin, you will have access to one of the most inexpensive and fastest means of money transfer across international barriers. Via bitcoin, revolution has been birthed in commerce and the modern-day concept of money. The entire idea of bitcoin came to the fore in 2009, when Satoshi Nakamoto published a paper and also made bitcoin available as a free software project. The purpose of this work was to deliver bitcoin to the world as a new and better means of money transfer. He designed it as a system of online value transfer that is in support of a highly prospective Internet currency. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Andrea Giordani. The only guide you need to understand the mechanics behind blockchain technology. This book will help you better understand blockchain, a new computer technology that is changing everything from how financial transactions are made to financial systems themselves. Unlike many other new technologies that emerge on the market, blockchain does not build on pre-existing technology. It actually created an entirely new model for how computer programs can run: in a decentralized, peer-to-peer, open-source manner that is not only virtually impenetrable, but also does not require trusted mediaries to authorize transactions. Blockchain´s origins go back to the early 1990s, the time when the Internet was beginning to become more accessible to the public. The full concept was laid out in 2008 with Satoshi Nakamoto´s white paper on his proposed cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. He developed the blockchain concept into a fully operational program that provides the best security features in all of cyber security. Some programmers saw that blockchain could be used for programs other than Bitcoin. They went on to develop powerful networks such as Ethereum and Blockstack, while other programmers began to experiment with other practical applications that blockchain had. The potential of blockchain is enormous. It enables highly secure transactions that cannot be tampered with. One feature of blockchain, the smart contract, even ensures that all parties involved in a contract carry out their prescribed duties - without the need for any trusted third party or middleman! Thus, there is no need for haggling, disputing claims, or going back and forth on each party´s responsibility.... 1. Language: English. Narrator: Dominic Carlos. A book that challenges common misconceptions about the nature of intelligence. Satoshi Kanazawa´s Why Beautiful People Have More Daughters (written with Alan S. Miller) was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as ´´a rollicking bit of pop Science & Technology that turns the lens of evolutionary psychology on issues of the day.´´ That book answered such burning questions as why women tend to lust after males who already have mates and why newborns look more like Dad than Mom. Now Kanazawa tackles the nature of intelligence: what it is, what it does, what it is good for (if anything). Highly entertaining, smart (dare we say intelligent?), and daringly contrarian, The Intelligence Paradox will provide a deeper understanding of what intelligence is, and what it means for us in our lives. Asks why more intelligent individuals are not better (and are, in fact, often worse) than less intelligent individuals in solving some of the most important problems in life - such as finding a mate, raising children, and making friends Discusses why liberals are more intelligent than conservatives, why atheists are more intelligent than the religious, why more intelligent men value monogamy, why night owls are more intelligent than morning larks, and why homosexuals are more intelligent than heterosexuals Explores how the purpose for which general intelligence evolved - solving evolutionarily novel problems - allows us to explain why intelligent people have the particular values and preferences they have Challenging common misconceptions about the nature of intelligence, this book offers surprising insights into the cutting-edge of Science & Technology at the intersection of evolutionary psychology and intelligence research.PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying reference material will be available in your My Library section along with the audio. 1. Reissue des gesuchten Cool Jazz / Bebop-Meisterwerks des Trios um Jazzpianist Ryo Fukui aus dem Jahre 1976. We Release Jazz (WRWTFWW Records new sister-label) is proud to present its first release, the official reissue of Ryo Fukuis highly sought-after masterpiece Scenery (1976), sourced from the original masters and available on limited edition 180g vinyl mastered at half speed for audiophile sound and on digipack CD. Unquestionably one of the most important Japanese jazz albums ever recorded, Scenery reveals Ryo Fukui as a miraculously brilliant self-taught pianist fusing modal, bop, andcool jazz influences for a very personal, dexterous and game-changing take on classic standards made famous by Bing Crosby and John Coltrane among others. From ´´It Could Happen To You´´ and its serene and calm intro which magically flows into a jubilant and upbeat piece, to the out-of-this-world piano solo of ´´Early Summer´´, or the incredible teamwork of ´´Autumn Leaves´´ where Fukui leads Satoshi Denpo (bass) and Yoshinori Fukui (drums) into groove heaven, every single note on the album oozes precision, confidence and flair and every single section slides seamlessly into one another, creating a supreme and elegant blend of jazz. Often compared to McCoy Tyner or Bill Evans, Ryo Fukui was a genius in his own right, a true master of his craft whose perfectionism gave birth to some of the greatest music ever recorded. Scenery is his magnum opus and an absolute must-have. The Hokkaido wizard-pianist followed Scenery with the soulful gem Mellow Dream (also available on We Release Jazz) in 1977. He then focused on improving his live skills, often performing at Sapporos Slowboat Jazz Club (which he co-founded with his wife Yasuko Fukui) and releasing 2 live albums. Ryo Fukui sadly passed away in March 2016, leaving behind a legacy of works that is sure to captivate jazz lovers for generations to come.
